Full feature list
Built for every part
of your life.

Buckit is not a work tool. It is a life tool — designed for the full human: the learner, the athlete, the believer, the creator, the caretaker.

🪣
Unlimited life domains
Create a bucket for anything — chess, piano, Bible study, soccer, coding, fitness, self-care, family time. Each domain gets its own color, timer, goal, streak, and history.
Timer & Stopwatch
Start a countdown timer for focused sessions, or use the stopwatch for open-ended work. Both track to your domain automatically and build your history and progress.
🛡
Focus Mode + App Blocking
Enable Focus Mode before a session and Buckit uses iOS Screen Time to block the apps you choose — social media, games, entertainment — for the duration of your session.
🎯
Goal + Schedule math
Set a total time target and a deadline. Buckit calculates your required daily minutes automatically, accounting for your schedule days. It updates in real time as you adjust.
🔥
Daily streaks
Each domain tracks a daily streak independently. Miss a day in chess but keep your Bible Study streak going. Every domain rewards consistency on its own terms.
📊
Progress chart
Visual multi-domain progress chart across 7D, 1W, 1M, 3M, and YTD. See which domains you're investing in and which ones need more attention.
📱
Phone usage insights
Buckit surfaces your iOS Screen Time data in context — not to shame you, but so you understand where time goes and can redirect it intentionally.
📝
Session notes
Add optional notes to any session. What did you learn? How did it feel? Notes attach to the session in your history, building a journal of your progress over time.
🎙
Siri voice control
Say "Hey Siri, start timer for chess in Buckit" and your session begins instantly. Zero friction. The moment between wanting to do something and doing it collapses to zero.
🎲
Random domain
Start a session without labeling it — it lands in Random. You can assign it to a domain later. No pressure to categorize everything perfectly before you begin.
Apple Watch sync
Start and stop sessions from your wrist. View your daily progress glanceable on your watch face. Full sync across iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch.
🔔
Smart notifications
Streak reminders, goal progress nudges, and session completion summaries — sent at the right moment, not constantly. Buckit respects your attention.
Coming in version 2.0
AI Goal Advisor

Buckit will analyze your 24 hours, your sleep, your existing commitments, and your goals — then tell you if your goals are realistic and how to rebalance your week for maximum progress.

The Art of Buckit
Philosophy &
Psychology

Buckit was not built from a business idea. It was built from pain — and from the belief that every person deserves to use their time fully.

The problem

Right now, as you read this, there are dozens of open tabs in your mind. A class you want to take. A skill you want to build. A habit you keep meaning to start. A passion you haven't touched in weeks. They sit there — waiting, growing heavier, collecting quiet guilt.

A lot of domains, a lot of cards, a lot of tasks, a lot of hobbies, a lot of classes — all open in our minds at once. We need to manually take care of those, or they drain us. They leak.

And we live in a world engineered to steal our attention. Social media, infinite scroll, notifications — the digital environment is not neutral. It is designed to pull you away from what matters. Given all of this, consistently showing up for the things you care about has become nearly impossible — not because you lack discipline, but because you lack the right structure.

"The problem is not you. The problem is that your life has many domains — and there has never been a single tool built to hold all of them, protect time for all of them, and give you proof you are making progress."
— Bethel, Founder
The 6 Principles
01
Tell your time where to go
Time that has no direction gets stolen. Buckit inverts the relationship between you and your schedule — instead of your day happening to you, you decide where every hour of intentional time belongs. You are the author. Your domains are the chapters.
02
One thing at a time — guilt free
When you start a Buckit session, you are fully present in that domain. The act of opening a bucket is permission: permission to be here, fully, right now. Everything else is held. You are guilt free.
03
Protect time, not just track it
Tracking time is reactive — it tells you where time went. Buckit is proactive — it protects where time is going. Focus Mode locks the digital world out so the real world can come in. The phone that once stole your attention becomes the tool that defends it.
04
Goals with a path, not just a number
Saying "I want to practice piano for 100 hours" is a wish. Buckit turns it into a plan: 14 minutes a day, every day, by your chosen date. Small, achievable, compounding. The goal does not change — but the path becomes something you can actually walk.
05
Effortless entry — just speak
The moment between wanting to do something and actually starting it is where most intention dies. Buckit collapses that moment. Say "Start timer for piano" and you are already inside your session. The friction is gone. You just begin.
06
Sleep knowing everything is handled
The most expensive time in your day is the last hour before sleep — when your mind reviews everything undone. Buckit closes those loops. Your time is tracked. Your life is planned. You go to sleep with evidence that you showed up.
The Psychology
🧠
Zeigarnik Effect
The mind cannot let go of open loops. Buckit closes them — not by finishing everything at once, but by giving each domain a scheduled place. The mind releases what has been assigned.
📌
Implementation Intentions
People who define exactly when and how long they will do something are 2–3× more likely to follow through. Buckit's goal scheduling is implementation intention by design.
🪪
Identity-based habits
Every session you complete is evidence of the person you are becoming. Streaks reinforce identity. Over time, the behavior is no longer motivated by the goal — it is motivated by who you have become.
🧘
Reduced cognitive load
Holding your domains inside Buckit instead of inside your head frees working memory for actual thinking. Less mental overhead. More presence. More capacity for the things that matter.
Exploit with Buckit.

Track it. Allocate it. Protect it. Own it. Your time is your life — and now you have the structure to use it.

Introduction to Buckit

Last updated: June 2026 · Version 1.0

Buckit is an iOS time-tracking and life-management app built around one core idea: your time is your life, and you deserve a tool that helps you protect it.

Unlike work-focused time trackers, Buckit is built for your whole life — chess, fitness, Bible study, coding, self-care, family. Each area of your life gets its own "bucket" — a domain you track time in, set goals for, build streaks in, and protect with Focus Mode.

Built natively for iOS. Buckit is 100% Swift, backed by Firebase, and syncs across your iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch in real time.

Installation

TestFlight Beta

Buckit is currently available as a TestFlight beta for iOS. To install:

  • Install the TestFlight app from the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.
  • Open the Buckit TestFlight invitation link on your device.
  • Tap Accept and then Install.
  • Buckit will appear on your home screen like any other app.

Requirements

  • iOS 16.0 or later
  • iPhone or iPad
  • Apple Watch (optional, for Watch sync features)
  • Internet connection for account creation and sync

Onboarding

When you first open Buckit, you will be guided through a short setup:

  • Create an account — sign up with your email address. Your data syncs securely to the cloud.
  • Create your first domain — name it anything (Chess, Reading, Fitness…) and pick a color. This is your first bucket.
  • Set a goal (optional) — enter a total time target and a deadline. Buckit will calculate your daily requirement automatically.

You can skip the goal step and set it later from the Goal tab inside any domain.

Domains

A domain (also called a bucket) is a named area of your life that you want to track time in. Examples: Chess, Piano, Bible Study, Fitness, Coding, Self Care, Family.

Creating a domain

Tap the + button on the home screen. Enter a name and select a color. Your domain is created instantly and appears in the home grid.

Pinned domains

Three system domains are always pinned at the top: Phone Usage (your iOS screen time data), Apps (app category breakdown), and Random (for unlabeled sessions). These cannot be deleted.

Archiving and deleting

You can archive a domain from its settings to hide it from the home screen without deleting its data. Deleted domains move to Recently Deleted and are permanently removed after 30 days.

Timer & Stopwatch

Inside any domain, tap the domain card to open it, then use the bottom tab bar to switch between Timer and Stopwatch.

Timer

The timer counts down from a set duration. Tap the displayed time to change the duration using the picker. Tap Start to begin. When the timer ends, the session is automatically saved to your domain history.

Stopwatch

The stopwatch counts up from zero. Useful for open-ended sessions where you don't know how long you'll go. Tap Start, work, then tap Stop. The session duration is saved.

Session history

All completed sessions appear in the History section below the timer. Tap any session row to view its detail — duration, date, focus mode status, and any notes you added.

Focus Mode

Focus Mode is Buckit's most powerful feature. It uses Apple's Screen Time API to block apps you choose for the duration of your session.

Enabling Focus Mode

Toggle Focus Mode on inside the timer card before starting a session. You will see options to:

  • Select which apps and categories to block
  • Set a maximum session duration
  • Enable Strict Mode (cannot be turned off mid-session)

What Focus Mode does

Once your session starts with Focus Mode on, selected apps become inaccessible on your device. The apps are not deleted — they are temporarily blocked until your session ends or you manually disable Focus Mode.

Strict Mode: When enabled, Focus Mode cannot be turned off until the session timer completes. Use this when you need maximum accountability.

Permission setup

The first time you enable Focus Mode, iOS will ask you to grant Screen Time access to Buckit. This is required for app blocking. Buckit does not store or share your Screen Time data.

Goals

Each domain can have one active goal — a target total time to reach by a specific date.

Setting a goal

Inside a domain, tap the Goal tab in the bottom bar. Enter:

  • Target Time — the total hours or minutes you want to accumulate
  • Start Date — when your goal period begins
  • Due Date — your deadline
  • Schedule Days — which days of the week count toward your goal

Daily calculation

Buckit automatically calculates how many minutes per day you need to reach your goal on time. This updates daily as you complete sessions — if you track more than required, your daily target decreases. If you miss a day, it adjusts accordingly.

Streaks

A streak is the number of consecutive days you have completed at least one session in a domain. Each domain tracks its own independent streak.

The streak resets if you go a full calendar day without completing any session in that domain. Streaks are shown on the domain detail screen as a row of flame icons — filled (active) or dim (missed).

Streak grace: Buckit counts a day as active if at least one session is completed, regardless of duration. Even one minute counts — consistency matters more than volume.

Session Notes

After completing a session, you can add an optional note — what you worked on, what you learned, how you felt. Notes are stored with the session in your history.

Tap the Notes tab inside any domain to view all notes chronologically, or add a standalone note independent of a session.

Insights & Progress

The home screen Progress section shows a multi-domain time chart across selectable time ranges: 7D, 1W, 1M, 3M, and YTD. Each domain is represented by its accent color.

The Phone Usage and Apps pinned domains surface your iOS Screen Time data — total phone usage and app category breakdown — so you can see how passive phone time relates to your intentional tracked time.

Siri & Voice Control

Buckit supports Siri Shortcuts for hands-free control. Supported commands:

  • "Start timer for [domain name] in Buckit"
  • "Stop Buckit timer"
  • "Start Buckit stopwatch for [domain name]"

To set up Siri shortcuts, go to Settings → Siri & Search → Buckit on your iPhone, or add shortcuts through the Shortcuts app.

Apple Watch

Buckit syncs with Apple Watch. From your watch you can:

  • View today's progress for each domain
  • Start and stop sessions for any domain
  • See your current streak for the active domain

Data syncs automatically via WatchConnectivity. Ensure both your iPhone and Apple Watch are connected for real-time sync.

Widgets

Buckit offers home screen and lock screen widgets. Available sizes:

  • Small: Today's total tracked time + top domain
  • Medium: Progress bars for your top 4 domains
  • Large: Full weekly summary with chart

Add widgets by long-pressing your home screen and tapping the + button, then searching for Buckit.

Random Domain

The Random domain is a system-pinned catch-all. Start a session without selecting a specific domain and it is recorded in Random. You can later drag a Random session into any domain to assign it.

Random is useful when you want to start immediately without deciding where the time belongs — the categorization can wait.

Your Account

Buckit uses email-based accounts backed by Firebase Authentication. Your account stores your domains, sessions, goals, and settings in the cloud.

Display name

Set a display name in your Account settings. This is used in your profile and in shared summaries.

Deleting your account

You can permanently delete your Buckit account from Account → Delete Account. All data — domains, sessions, goals, notes — is permanently and irreversibly removed within 30 days of deletion.

Sync & Data

All Buckit data syncs in real time across your iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch via Firebase Firestore. Changes made on one device appear on all other devices within seconds when connected to the internet.

Buckit does not store any data on your device beyond what is needed for offline functionality. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

FAQ

Can I use Buckit without an account?

No. An account is required for data sync and to enable cloud backup of your sessions and goals.

Does Focus Mode delete my apps?

No. Focus Mode temporarily restricts access to apps you choose. The apps remain installed on your device and become accessible again when your session ends.

What happens if I close the app during a session?

Buckit runs a background timer. If the app is closed, the timer continues and the session is saved when you return.

Is my Screen Time data shared with Buckit's servers?

No. Your Screen Time data is processed locally on your device. Buckit does not transmit Screen Time data to any server.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I create my first domain (bucket)?
Tap the gold + button on the home screen. Enter a name for your domain (e.g. "Chess", "Fitness", "Bible Study") and choose a color. Your domain is created instantly and appears in the home grid. Tap it to open the timer and start your first session.
How do I change the timer duration?
Open any domain and go to the Timer tab. Tap directly on the time display (e.g. "05:00") to open the duration picker. Use the scroll wheel to select your desired duration, then tap Start. A small pencil icon appears next to the time to indicate it is editable.
What is Focus Mode and how do I enable it?
Focus Mode uses iOS Screen Time to block apps you choose during your session. Before starting a session, toggle Focus Mode on using the shield toggle in the timer card. You can choose which app categories to block and optionally enable Strict Mode (cannot be turned off mid-session). The first time you use it, iOS will ask you to grant Screen Time permission.
Does Focus Mode delete my apps?
No. Focus Mode only temporarily restricts access to the apps you select. The apps remain installed on your device and become fully accessible again as soon as your session ends or you disable Focus Mode.
Why is my streak broken even though I used the app?
Streaks require at least one completed session in that specific domain per calendar day. Opening the app without completing a session does not count. Make sure you tap Start and then Stop (or let the timer complete) — that creates a session record and counts toward your streak.
How does goal scheduling work?
Go to any domain and tap the Goal tab. Enter your total target time, start date, due date, and which days of the week count. Buckit automatically calculates how many minutes per day you need to reach your goal on time. This number updates daily as you complete sessions.
Is my data backed up?
Yes. All your domains, sessions, goals, and notes sync automatically to the cloud via Firebase. Your data is accessible across all your devices and is securely backed up. You will never lose your data if you reinstall the app — simply sign in to your account.
Can I use Buckit on my Apple Watch?
Yes. Buckit syncs with Apple Watch. From your watch you can start and stop sessions, view today's progress per domain, and check your current streaks. Make sure both your iPhone and Apple Watch are connected for real-time sync.
How do I cancel my Buckit Pro subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID. To cancel: open Settings on your iPhone → tap your Apple ID at the top → Subscriptions → find Buckit → Cancel Subscription. Your Pro access continues until the end of the current billing period.
How do I delete my account?
Open Buckit → tap your avatar in the top right → Account → Delete Account. You will be asked to confirm. All your data is permanently deleted within 30 days. This action cannot be undone.
